I’m Annie Shapiro, Founder of The Mindshift Studio

I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re feeling stuck in old patterns, struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, you’re not alone. I’m here to help you break free and build the life you truly want.

My Unique Approach to Therapy

Before becoming a therapist, I was a Division 1 athlete, where I learned the value of resilience, discipline, and how to maintain balance amidst high pressure. This experience shapes the way I work with clients who are driven and ambitious, but often find themselves overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from their well-being.

I also bring years of experience as a health and wellness coach, specializing in strength training, conditioning, and overall wellness. I believe in a mind-body approach to therapy—healing isn’t just about addressing your thoughts, but also about nurturing your physical health and lifestyle. Together, we’ll address your emotional challenges while optimizing your physical health to create a holistic approach to well-being.

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with high-achieving individuals, including professionals, creatives, and athletes, who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, or complex relational issues. If you’ve been caught in the cycle of unhealthy coping mechanisms—like overworking, substance use, or avoiding difficult emotions—I can help you uncover the root causes of these behaviors and empower you to create new, healthier ways of living.

What I Offer:

Trauma Therapy: If you’ve experienced trauma, whether it’s from childhood or adulthood, we’ll work together to help you process and heal. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), two evidence-based approaches that are proven to help with trauma and emotional regulation.

Anxiety and Depression: I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques to help you manage overwhelming emotions, challenge negative thinking patterns, and build effective coping strategies. Together, we’ll break free from the cycle of anxiety and depression so you can live with greater clarity and confidence.

Couples Counseling & Relationship Therapy: Using the Gottman Method and Attachment Theory, I work with couples to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and create lasting emotional intimacy. I also incorporate IMAGO Therapy to help partners understand and heal past wounds, fostering deeper connections.

Mind-Body Healing: As someone with a background in clinical hypnosis and wellness coaching, I integrate mindfulness, hypnotherapy, and physical health strategies to help you manage stress, improve your emotional resilience, and optimize your lifestyle for lasting change.

Why Work With Me?

A Holistic Approach: I combine my therapeutic expertise in CBT, DBT, and trauma therapy with my mind-body wellness background to help you create lasting change. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, anxiety, or relationship issues, we’ll explore how your mind, body, and lifestyle all play a role in your healing process.

Empathy and Understanding: As a former athlete, I understand the demands of high performance and the mental challenges that come with it. I know how hard it can be to balance personal, professional, and relational expectations, and I’m here to support you through it with compassion and guidance.

Personalized Care: Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I meet you where you are and tailor my approach to your unique needs. Whether we’re focusing on mindfulness, emotional regulation, or relationship dynamics, I’ll work with you to create a plan that fits your life.
