FAQ:

How are your services different than traditional therapy?

My approach integrates my experience as a Division 1 athlete, personal trainer, health coach, and Master's level mental health clinician. I believe many individuals can benefit from treatment beyond traditional therapy, incorporating methods such as walk-and-talk therapy, therapy on the water in Miami Beach, clinical hypnosis, and more.

To provide exceptional care, I offer a “VIP” service that limits the number of clients I see. While many therapists manage caseloads of 25 or more clients per week—often leading to burnout and diminished quality of care—I maintain a low caseload to prioritize both my clients and my own well-being. This allows me to respond quickly, schedule appointments efficiently, and support my clients outside of sessions if needed.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently operate as a private pay practice and do not accept insurance. This model allows me to provide more personalized care and ensures greater confidentiality for my clients.

Many insurance companies require a formal diagnosis to reimburse for therapy services, which can limit the scope of treatment and force clients into specific categories. By choosing to work outside the insurance system, I can focus on your unique needs without the constraints of a diagnosis. This approach not only protects your privacy but also enables me to tailor our work together in a way that truly supports your holistic well-being.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, I provide teletherapy options for clients who prefer to meet online. This allows for greater flexibility and convenience, ensuring you can access support from the comfort of your own space.

What is clinical Hypnosis?

Clinical hypnosis is a therapeutic technique that helps individuals reach a heightened state of awareness, often called a trance. During this state, clients may be more open to suggestions, which can lead to positive changes in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The process typically begins with the therapist guiding the client into a relaxed state using calming techniques and breathing exercises. Once relaxed, the therapist helps the client focus on specific thoughts or sensations. While in this state, suggestions are offered to address issues like anxiety, pain management, or habits such as smoking. Throughout the process, clients remain aware and in control, able to accept or reject any suggestions.

There are several myths about clinical hypnosis that can lead to misunderstandings. For example, some people believe that hypnosis means losing control, falling asleep, or being manipulated, but that's not the case. You will be fully in control and aware of your surroundings during hypnosis. After a session, clients often report feeling relaxed and refreshed, making clinical hypnosis a valuable option for those seeking holistic mental health support.

Why did you decide to become a therapist?

From a young age, I’ve been deeply fascinated by psychology and the underlying reasons behind people’s mental struggles. This curiosity fueled my desire to understand the “why” of human behavior and emotional suffering.

My journey has taught me that many people are doing their best, yet they often grapple with stress and anxiety stemming from societal expectations, family dynamics, and various biopsychosocial factors. This realization ignited my passion for helping others. I believe in the transformative power of letting go of past burdens and embracing personal growth.

My mission is to support individuals in uncovering their true selves, guiding them toward becoming the best versions of themselves. Together, we can navigate the challenges of the past and pave the way for a brighter, more fulfilling future. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients on this journey of healing and empowerment.

Are you an LGBTQ+ ally and supportive of the BIPOC community?

Absolutely. As a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I recognize that living in a society marked by microaggressions and systemic discrimination can take a toll on mental well-being.

I am committed to creating an inclusive environment that honors and affirms LGBTQ+ identities and supports the BIPOC community. Here, everyone is treated with respect and receives the high-quality care they deserve.

How do I know you are the best therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist is like finding the perfect pair of jeans—you may need to try a few before you find the right fit. The connection you have with a therapist depends on personality, counseling style, and other factors. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation for potential clients. This gives us the opportunity to meet and see if we click, and if not I would be happy to help refer you to another clinician.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy a variety of activities, from paddling my surfski in the ocean in Miami to traveling to hike in different countries. Staying active and connecting with nature are important to me. I’m also a huge foodie and love exploring new vegan restaurants during my travels. In my downtime, I enjoy cuddling up with my cat and diving into a good book, along with cooking and trying out new recipes.

Giving back to the community is also important to me. I have chosen to be a private pay clinician in order to provide those in need with pro bono and low cost sessions.

What are your rates?
